PALOU: INDY SEASON “LOOKING GOOD” AFTER TEST

Feb 4, 2023

Monaco Increase Management driver Alex Palou was back to work at the wheel of his Honda-powered Dallara car for a two-days collective testing session on the new California circuit facility of The Thermal Club. One month ahead of the first championship racing event in St.Petersburg, Palou now says that the session, in which he teamed up with three other CGR drivers, was more than encouraging.

“I’m happy with the way the test went” said the 25-years old MIM driver from Sant Antoni Vilamajor “and I can’t wait for the race in St.Pete. We have been quick all days and we tried a lot of things for the championship. This year is looking very good!”.

On Thursday, Palou clocked the third best time in 1min 39sec 3970 on the twisty three mile (4.8 Km) racing course. The second and final day was devoted to trying new solutions, with all four Ganassi drivers finishing in the top 10 and working as a team to collect useful data for the season. Even so, Palou scored 7th best with a fastest lap time of 1min 38sec 8718. His #10 car featured the new white-and-navy-blue American Legion livery. The session also saw the debut of a new, fully-renewable bio ethanol Shell racing fuel which gave very good results.
