Monaco, April 26th – MIM driver Alex Palou still leads in the point standings at 67, despite a difficult race in St.Petersburg. After his maiden win with Chip Ganassi Racing in the opening round of the IndyCar series at Barber Park, the 24-year old Spanish driver managed to enter the top twelve qualifying group and ended up with tenth place on the grid. At the start of the 100-lap race on the Florida street course, though, he had to brake early to avoid traffic and lost four positions. From there, he battled in the midfield for most of the event, briefly leading the race on lap 37 before serving his first pit call. Unfortunately, his Honda-powered Dallara car developed a suspension issue that eventually forced Palou back into the pits right at the last lap, pushing him back to P17 in the final classification. Now Alex is looking forward to the Texas Motor Speedway double-header coming up already next weekend.
