Exactly three months after his FIA Formula E World Championship title win achieved in spectacular fashion at London’s ExCel Centre, Monaco Increase Management’s contracted driver Pascal Wehrlein premiered the new factory Porsche 99X GEN3 Evo for next season in an online film with team-mate Antonio Felix Da Costa and Formula E safety car driver and GEN3 Evo development driver, Bruno Correira.
Resplendent in a dynamic new colour scheme of Purple Sky Metallic and Shade Green Metallic, the GEN3 Evo Porsche 99X, which was presented today, is the latest, third generation version of the all-electric open-wheel racing car that has taken the Stuttgart manufacturer to the last two drivers’ world championships.
“Winning the championship and winning it together with Porsche means a lot to me and to the team. It’s our first title and championship together and hopefully there are many more to follow,” declared Pascal. “The new Porsche 99X Electric is a very cool car, I love the colours so much that I designed my helmet the same way. It also goes without saying that I am proud to now have the number 1 on the nose of my car. I want to defend my title and the preparations for the new season are going according to plan.”
Thomas Laudenbach, Vice President of Porsche Motorsport, added: “The bar has been set high: With Pascal as the World Champion, we are at the pinnacle of Porsche’s formula racing history to date.”
Pascal will have his first opportunity to get to grips with the new car, together with his TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team, in the official pre-season testing session at Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo Circuit (Spain) from 4 to 7 November, while he will begin the defence of his title at the opening round of Season 11 one month later on 7 December in Sâo Paolo (Brazil).
