ROW 2 START IN LONDON FINALE FOR WEHRLEIN

Jul 21, 2024

Pascal Wehrlein will line up on the second row of the grid for the second day in succession in the London E-Prix finale later this afternoon after losing out to Mitch Evans in the semi-final duel.

The TAG-Heuer Porsche driver, who took himself back to the top of the points table for the first time since Monaco with a win in yesterday’s round 15, will find his two Jaguar rivals Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy respectively alongside him on row 2 and ahead of him in pole after today’s Qualifying, thus setting up a nail-biting battle for the title in the ExCel Centre.

Wehrlein, who finished second behind Cassidy in the Group A stage, eliminated Sam Bird (McLaren) in the first quarter-final, but in turn was knocked out by the Jaguar driver, who went on to beat Max Guenther (Maserati) in the final and take the three extra points for pole position.
It’s all to play for this afternoon, with four points now separating the top 3, Wehrlein, Evans and Cassidy.
