Following two outings on the international stage at the wheel of his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup machine in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup at Imola and Monaco, Lirim Zendeli returns to the confines of Italy’s domestic Porsche Carrera Cup for the second round of the series, once again at the Autodromo di Imola.
Making his debut in the 911 GT3 Cup with Ombra Racing – Centro Porsche Bergamo just one month ago, the 24-year-old German immediately made a good impression at Misano, where he finished third in race 2.
At Imola he will be aiming to make further progress in both the overall classification, where Porsche expert Larry ten Voorde (Fulgenzi Racing) leads the way, and in the new Rookies ranking, where his closest adversary appears to be the 19-year-old Italian Francesco Braschi (Dinamic Motorsport).
Round 2 of the season gets underway on Friday 31 May with free practice, scheduled from 3.20pm to 4.20pm, while qualifying to decide the starting grids for both races is at 9.00 on Saturday morning. Saturday’s Race 1 is scheduled at 3.20pm, while race 2 takes place on Sunday at 12.00pm to conclude the weekend. Races are broadcast in live streaming on the official website www.carreracupitalia.it.
