PREMA Powerteam signs MIM driver David Vidales for 2021 Regional by Alpine championship
PREMA Powerteam is extremely happy to announce that Monaco Increase Management driver David Vidales will join the team’s Formula Regional European by Alpine operation for 2021.
An 18-year-old Spaniard from León, Vidales went straight to Formula Renault Eurocup in 2020 for his first season in single-seaters after a promising and successful career in karting.
Joining the grid at Imola after missing the 2020 opener, his car racing debut was no short of astonishing. Running for the first time at the tough Italian racetrack, Vidales cruised to pole position and then pulled away to take victory, before making it two out of two in the second race. He eventually went on to take sixth place overall in points, courtesy of seven rookie wins.
He will now return for his second year and a new era of the series, joining the PREMA family.
David Vidales
“I am very thankful to PREMA Powerteam for providing me this opportunity, it is a real honour for me to become part of such a prestigious team. Also, I would like to thank Salvatore Gandolfo at Monaco Increase Management, who has been supporting my career so far and will continue to do so in the years to come. Now I am looking forward to start working with my new team and I am confident that we will achieve great results together.”
Angelo Rosin – PREMA Team Principal
“What David accomplished was possibly one of the best breakthrough stories of the year. We think he deserves a chance, and with the kind of speed he showed straight out of the box, we are sure that our trust is well-founded. We will do our best to provide him with a learning path, in addition to a fast racecar, and we really look forward to working together.”
