Monaco, June 21 – Alex Palou made everybody happy at Monaco Increase Management today by winning his second race this season in the Indycar series and taking back the points lead with a 28-point margin over second placed Pato O’Ward. Palou’s win at the REV Group Grand Prix of Road America came courtesy of skillful driving and well-planned team strategies. Once again, the 24-year old from Catalunya showed the grit and consistency that have become his trademark-together with the gorilla logo on his racing gloves. Palou started from 5th on the grid but quickly made his way up to top three, then trailed Josef Newgarden for most of the 53-lap event and managed to pit one lap after him, thus being able to be more flexible on fuel strategy for the last stages of the race. A near-the-end caution period took some pressure off Newgarden, but at the restart, with just two laps to go, his Dallara suddenly lost drive and Alex dived in for victory. “We had a very good car all day” Palou said “thanks to all the #10 crew. Now we move on to Mid-Ohio!”. The Lexington course is one of Palou’s favorites and the race may become a double-header, so let’s stay tuned!
