MIM’s driver Alex Palou is quite confident about the races ahead after taking part in the Indycar test session at Barber Motorsports Park this week. The Alabama track hosted Palou’s maiden Indycar victory in 2021, and the Spanish-born driver eventually became series champion that year. “Palou won at this track to open the 2021 season” writes the Indycar official site “and ignite his championship run, and there’s every reason to believe he will contend again this year amid the powerful Ganassi lineup”.
Palou concluded the one-day testing session with a fourth best in the No.10 The American Legion Chip Ganassi Racing Honda car, just three-tenths of a second behind best-placed Scott McLaughlin. Both Palou and his team targeted a number of developments for the remainder of the season and the test was a success. “It went very well” Alex said to Monaco Increase Management “We tried a lot of different things for Barber, for other circuits as well, and we ended up being very happy. As always, we would have liked to have more testing days or be able to run more laps, but the available time was very limited”.
The next round of the 2023 Indycar series is scheduled for April, 2nd with the first oval race of the season, the PPG 375 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth.
