Monaco, May 16 – MIM driver Alex Palou was all smiles yesterday after taking another podium finish in the GMR Grand Prix which was run on the Indianapolis road course yesterday. This result means that he climbed another step in the overall points standing and he’s now running second in the IndyCar classification at 163, just thirteen points behind series leader Scott Dixon. Palou started from P4 on the grid, made his way up to third after the first pit-stop, lost some time in the second tyre change but managed to recover well and secure third position at the end. “It was a pretty good weekend – commented the 24-yearold Spaniard – as we were able to find a good pace from the beginning, despite losing the whole first practice session due to a technical problem. We managed to enter the Top 6 qualifying, which was awesome, and the race was pretty exciting, too. In the end, we had no new Soft tyres left and that made things a little more difficult, but we could defend third position and I’m sure that this podium finish will help the team and me personally ahead of the Indy 500. I’m really looking forward to it!”.
