Monaco Increase Management driver Alex Palou returned to the Indianapolis Speedway where he came in second at last year’s Indy 500, to complete a two-day open testing session with CGR team ahead of the big event scheduled at the end of May. Palou was seventh fastest on both days of practice, ending Day 1 with a best average speed of 222.096 mph (357.352 Kph) and further improving his performance to a best recorded average speed of 228.058 (366,945 Kph) on the second and final day, despite not having been able to run in the morning due to bad weather conditions. Overall, MIM’s Palou felt that the work done on his #10 Honda-powered Dallara car had been extremely productive and bodes well for the 500-mile race.
“Coming back to Indy is always special – said Palou – To be honest, it feels awesome and I’m super happy with this test. We did about 500 miles in the traffic on day 2 and already on the first day the car felt very fast. The team and myself can’t wait for May!”.
