Monaco. Monaco Increase Management driver Pascal Wehrlein has joined Porsche for the 2020/2021 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship season. The 25-year old will pair André Lotterer in Season 7 of the full-electric series, in which he has disputed 17 races so far, scoring a total of 72 points, clinching a Pole Position and finishing second at the Santiago E-Prix in his debut season (2018/2019).
Wehrlein, who entered the Monaco Increase Management project in 2018, has been racing with success in many categories of motorsports. He joined ADAC Formula Masters in 2010 and won the series the following year, with a tally of seven race wins. He then moved to DTM and became the youngest series winner in 2015, at the age of twenty. He made his debut in the FIA Formula One Championship in 2016 with Manor, before moving to Sauber in 2017.
“To be at the start of the championship as a works Porsche driver is an honor for me”, says Pascal. “I’ve always followed the brand in its long motorsports history and I have a huge respect for what they have achieved. I would like to thank Porsche for offering me this fantastic chance, as well as Monaco Increase Management and Salvatore Gandolfo for their support to my career in those years. Now I can’t wait to get acquainted with the team and start working at Weissach!”.
