LIRIM ZENDELI RECEIVES 2024 PCCI ROOKIE AWARD AT PORSCHE GALA EVENING

Nov 18, 2024

At the end of an intense season of hard-fought Porsche Carrera Cup Italia racing, Monaco Increase Mangement-contracted driver Lirim Zendeli was one of the protagonists of the PCCI awards-giving ceremony at the Porsche Experience Center Franciacorta on Sunday.

The Rookie award Lirim received – a new addition in the 2024 season – was a notable achievement for the 25-year-old German-Albanian, who was taking part in his first season of GT racing this year with the Ombra Racing-Centro Porsche Bergamo team, having until now followed a career exclusively in single-seaters.

Competing against experienced and successful Porsche Carrera Cup veterans and emerging youngsters eager to make their name throughout the six-round, 12-race calendar, Lirim more than held his own, ending the season third overall with 143 points behind the overall champion, his Ombra Racing teammate Keagan Masters, Larry ten Voorde and Marvin Klein ex-aequo in second place.

There was great satisfaction as well on the part of Lirim’s management company, MIM, represented at the gala evening in person by CEO Salvatore Gandi who also wished to thank the entire Ombra Racing outfit for their expertise and professionalism throughout the year in providing Lirim with a top-quality service and supporting him with a great team spirit.
