MIM-contracted Pascal Wehrlein has been crowned ABB FIA Formula E World Champion for the second time in his career after an incredibly dramatic season finale in London.

The TAG Heuer Porsche driver arrived at the final race of the season leading the standings, but with several drivers still in contention for the title, nothing was guaranteed. Wehrlein spent much of the race battling around the top five, knowing that every position could prove decisive in the championship fight.

The situation changed dramatically in the closing stages. After running fifth, Wehrlein was shuffled down the order following a series of intense battles and dropped outside the points, while Jake Dennis and Mitch Evans continued to push for the results they needed to take the championship away from him.

For a few extraordinary moments, the title changed hands virtually several times. Dennis briefly moved into a position that would have put him at the top of the standings before Wehrlein fought his way back into the top ten. Then, with just a handful of laps remaining, further contact and chaos at Turn 16 caught both Wehrlein and Dennis, leaving the German outside the points once again and the outcome of the championship hanging in the balance.

From that moment, Wehrlein could do little but depend on what happened at the front. Evans needed to win the race to deny him the title, but the Jaguar driver could only finish fourth. Wehrlein eventually crossed the line in 14th position, but it was enough: after one of the most tense finales imaginable, Pascal was World Champion once again.

The German therefore adds the 2026 Drivers’ World Championship to the Formula E crown he won in 2024, becoming a two-time World Champion in the all-electric series.
