VIDALES HEADS TO MISANO FOR NEW CHALLENGE IN ITALIAN GT ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP

May 1, 2025

David Vidales’ 2025 track racing season gets underway this weekend with a new challenge – the Italian GT Endurance Championship – behind the wheel of an AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3

After putting his name on the radar with some good performances in the year of his GT racing debut in the 2024 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe, 22-year-old Vidales is now ready to accumulate further racing experience in the hard-fought category as he starts a second GT endurance racing programme, once again with the successful Piacenza-based Italian squad.

“The first race of the year is finally here! The AF Corse team, myself and my teammates have been working hard during the preseason testing so we are ready for it and I’m really looking forward to jumping in the car at Misano on Friday,” declared David.

“The Italian GT Endurance Championship is going to be a new challenge for me and I feel sure it’s not going to be easy because there are a lot of competitive cars and drivers in the series, but I know AF Corse, the Ferrari 296 GT3 and the circuits very well so I hope to be able to score some good results together with my teammates Badawi and Colavita. Of course, a big thanks to MIM, AF Corse and everyone else who made this opportunity happen.”

The Monaco Increase Management contracted driver will take part in the four endurance races this season – Misano, Monza, Imola and Mugello – in a Ferrari 296 GT3, together with his new teammates Italy’s Leonardo Colavita and Egypt’s Ibrahim Badawi.

The Italian GT Endurance Championship will probably see an all-Italian battle between Ferrari and Lamborghini, with Maranello’s 296 GT3 making up six entries, including four from AF Corse. The Misano weekend schedule sees free practice on Friday and Saturday, with qualifying on Saturday evening starting at 18.00 and the three-hour race on Sunday at 14.10.
