After the 20-year-old Lirim Zendeli from Bochum made the first exclamation marks in the FIA Formula 3 in Monza, he now wants to build on this in Sochi. “Looking back, I have to say that this year didn’t quite go according to plan for me. Often we couldn’t get our performance up in the qualifying sessions and then ran behind our own possibilities for the rest of the weekend. Only the penultimate race of the season in Monza went to my liking,” reports Lirim Zendeli.
After winning the ADAC Formula 4 title last year, Zendeli moved up to the FIA Formula 3 series this year. But the F3 championship is filled with top-class drivers and Zendeli is competing there as a rookie. “The starting situation was clear to me from the outset. But as a racing driver you don’t go to the race track just to see what’s going on. On the contrary. You want to win. If you don’t feel this “want to win gene” inside you, you won’t win. I have known this feeling since my first kart race,” explains the youngster.
